Chinese Singapore fried rice


  • Peanut oil 
  • One egg (cracked) 
  • 1 clove of garlic finely chopped 
  • 1 green chilli very, very finely chopped 
  • Two cups of pre cooked (steamed) jasmine rice (left in fridge overnight) 
  • A 1/4 each of yellow, green and red pepper julienned" 
  • A generous pinch of salt, sugar and msg (msgoptional) 
  • 6 cooked king prawn (each cut into 3) pre cooked chicken can also used 
  • 1/4 cup of frozen peas
  • 1 level tsp of chilli powder (more if you like the heat) 
  • 1 level tsp of  curry powder (Malay) if you can get it 
  • 1 tsp of light soy sauce 
  • 2 spring onions chopped diagonally for garnish
How to make it:

  • Heat the oil in a wok
  • Add the egg and stir fry 30 seconds appx
  • Add garlic and chilli all the time stir frying
  • Add the rice keep stir frying
  • Add the 3 coloured julienned peppers
  • Add salt, sugar and msg
  • Add the prawns
  • Add the peas
  • Add the chilli powder
  • Add the curry powder
  • Add the soy sauce
  • Add the spring onions
  • "Make sure you give 30 seconds of stir frying after each ingredient has been added"
